Custom Engineered Solutions

Information & Application

At VPC, we view things through an engineering model. We believe we must evaluate your current system to obtain the necessary data essential for proper analysis and application. Knowing how a correct system should function and understanding the end result of the customer’s process, we apply the proper math and physics to achieve the engineered conditions of service.

Design & Build

We believe a properly sized system increases performance, while decreasing energy, down time, and consumables. Our outside engineering staff works on site parameters to insure optimization of process, while adding the benefit of reliability and energy efficiency. Our inside engineering team is capable of handling custom solutions through the design build process. We have a new spacious facility set up for custom manufacturing. It includes steel and stainless steel working machinery, overhead cranes, machining equipment , and paint booth. We have several testing bays and test up to 300 HP on site. This in-house efficiency allows us to fabricate custom components, structural bases, supports, and sound enclosures in less time while saving you money.

Control & Performance

In a custom solution integrating controls is a process that can be both time and labor consuming. Coordination can be complicated, but at VPC you can rely on our years of experience. We provide control systems as simple as starters and VFD drives to full remote automation control panels . Our team builds control systems that are easily integrated into your existing system. We offer a variety of solutions using interfaces that allow for easier monitoring, control, troubleshooting, and levels of protection.

Installation & Start Up

VPC strives to make your layout, installation and start up process a smooth experience. That is why proper planning and attention to detail are always on our minds. Our service technicians and engineers are available for test run and start up services as required.

Improving Your Current System

Let our engineering team help solve your process issues. Here are just a few examples:

A food processor used heat to reduce moisture content in their product before packaging for export. The process was time consuming, expensive, and required additional handling of the product. VPC designed a vacuum system to remove moisture that resulted in time and cost savings, but most importantly met quality compliance requirements of the product before reaching their customer.

A food processing plant was using a rotary screw vacuum system and was unable to achieve the vacuum level required to insure consistent freshness. VPC designed a full recovery stainless steel system to provide proper vacuum level and control. Besides solving their vacuum issues, the system provided ease of maintenance and energy efficiency.

A processing plant had an undersized pumping system that could not handle flow during peak periods. VPC resized the wastewater pumps to perform over the entire range of production, eliminating problems and alleviating potential fines.

A food processor was not able to achieve proper sealing on a bagging application. VPC helped improve their system by adding proper equipment and control.

A dairy was burning up heat exchangers on their evaporation process. VPC engineers worked with the plant engineer to remedy multiple problems with piping and equipment.

A power plant was able to reduce their vacuum level by VPC resizing a vacuum system and ejector. The energy savings amounts to over a $1,000,000 annually and reduced maintenance and downtime.

There is no need to put up with chronic process issues. Let a VPC engineer help improve your system today.

Energy Efficiency Specialists

At Vacuum, Pump & Compressor we believe we need to offer engineering services based on correct measurement and accurate results. That is why we have invested in tens of thousands of dollars of equipment solely for this purpose. We believe our audits will give you the most comprehensive information in order to make decisions and work with electrical providers.

Vacuum is an energy intensive process requiring input electricity to power the motor and energy to cool and move the sealant through the pump. Whether your system consists of large 50hp+ units or many rotary-vane and liquid ring pumps, we have studies to fit your need. VPC’s custom engineered data logging system measures kW, Vacuum, and Flow directly from the process. Vacuum Audits also provide great indication of pumps that are in need of repair to prevent higher costs resulting from failure.

The cost to produce vacuum is significant and growing everyday as the price of electricity and raw materials increases. VPC Plant Air Audit’s provide expertise and physical data in helping to improve your vacuum system. VPC has the knowledge, test equipment and laboratory diagnostics to fulfill the monitoring demands of the program.
