Hydraulic Tank Mixing Systems
Ebara-Hayward Gordon HydroMix®

The HydroMix® system uses an external pump to recirculate tank contents through engineered nozzles, creating fluid motion that mixes liquids and keeps solids suspended. This design eliminates mechanical mixers inside the tank while still delivering effective mixing performance.

HydroMix® is ideal for industrial applications where customers want reliable tank mixing, reduced maintenance, and improved solids suspension.

How the HydroMix® Mixing System Works

The HydroMix® system combines a centrifugal pump with strategically positioned tank nozzles.

Mixing Process

  1. Fluid is drawn from the tank by a pump.
  2. The pump recirculates the fluid back into the tank through HydroMix nozzles.
  3. The nozzle discharge creates powerful circulation patterns within the tank.
  4. This circulation blends liquids and keeps solids in suspension.

The system creates both horizontal rotation and vertical mixing motion, promoting uniform mixing throughout the vessel.

Typical HydroMix® Mix Applications

HydroMix® Mix hydraulic mixing systems are commonly used in:

  • Anaerobic digesters
  • Wastewater sludge storage tanks
  • Equalization tanks
  • Manure digesters for RNG production
  • Chemical blending tanks
  • Crude oil storage tanks

These applications benefit from reliable solids suspension and consistent mixing without the complexity of mechanical mixers inside the tank.

Key Benefits of HydroMix®

No Moving Parts in the Tank

HydroMix® eliminates in-tank mixers and impellers. The only rotating equipment is the external pump, reducing maintenance challenges inside the vessel.

High Active Tank Volume

HydroMix® systems are designed to achieve effective mixing in more than 90% of the tank volume, improving blending and solids suspension performance.

Faster Mixing

The system is engineered to reach uniform mixing conditions within approximately 120 minutes of startup, depending on application conditions.

Simplified Maintenance

Because the pump is installed outside the tank, it can be isolated with valves for service without draining the tank.

Durable Nozzle Construction

HydroMix® Mix nozzles are built using abrasion-resistant materials and require minimal maintenance.
